Today and Current Status

Use Today on mobile or Home on web to review today's advice, execute planned workouts, link activities, compare load, and customize current-status metrics.

Today and Current Status

Today is the daily execution surface on mobile; the web Home page presents the same account context in a wider layout. Use it to decide what needs attention now, open the planned workout, and verify that completed work returns to the plan.

Before you begin

  • Complete onboarding and sign in to the same account used on web.
  • Set the correct time zone so “today” and plan dates agree.
  • Activate a plan if you expect a scheduled workout.
  • Let recent activities finish processing so load and current-status cards are current.
  • Link completed activities when plan-versus-actual context matters.

1. Read today's advice as context

Open Today on mobile or Home on web. The advice summary can use available plan, recent activity, and load context. It is a starting point, not medical clearance or an automatic plan change.

Check that the date and active plan are correct. If the advice appears generic, wait for activity processing, update profile data, or open Ask the coach with a specific question.

2. Open the planned workout

In Training, select a workout to inspect:

  • Sport, planned duration, and status.
  • Workout chart and structured steps when available.
  • Coaching notes.
  • Linked activity state.

For an open endurance workout, Start planned workout opens recording with plan and workout context. For a supported strength workout, it opens the strength-session flow instead.

If an unfinished local recording exists, choose whether to continue it, finish and recover it, or discard it before starting another recording. Do not create a second copy merely to bypass the recovery prompt.

The workout action sheet supports the actions currently valid for the workout:

  • Activity / Link activity — open an existing linked activity or choose the completed activity that fulfilled the workout.
  • Postpone — move an eligible open workout forward by one day after confirmation.
  • Skip — mark the planned workout skipped after confirmation.

Postpone and Skip change plan execution state. They do not edit or delete a completed activity. After either action, check the active plan and Calendar because the surrounding week may now need review.

4. Compare this week with last week

Use the weekly-load comparison as a prompt to investigate change. Confirm that the date boundary and sport context are appropriate, then open the underlying activities or PMC view before changing a plan.

A higher or lower weekly number does not by itself say whether the week was successful. Compare it with planned workload, completion quality, subjective state, and the purpose of the training block.

5. Customize Current status on mobile

Current status can show VO2Max, ATL, CTL, TSB, load ratio, monotony, intensity, rest days, and weekly summary metrics when data is available.

  1. Select the gear button beside Current status.
  2. Remove metrics that do not support your daily decisions.
  3. Select Add metric and choose a metric card.
  4. Long-press the drag handle to reorder the selected metrics.
  5. Keep at least one metric, then select Done.

Selecting a Current status card opens its detail and recent series. Use Learn to open the corresponding metric documentation.

6. Refresh after cross-device changes

Pull down on Today to refresh plan, advice, load, current status, and recent activity queries. Refresh after editing a plan on web, completing an import, or applying an AI Coach action.

Do not continue editing stale plan data when another device has just saved a change. Confirm the newest workout date and status first.

Verify the daily workflow

  • Today shows the correct account date and active plan.
  • The intended workout opens with the correct sport, structure, and status.
  • Starting the workout carries plan context into endurance recording or strength execution.
  • A completed activity is linked once to the intended workout.
  • Postponed or skipped state also appears in Calendar and the active plan.
  • Current-status metric selection and order remain after reopening Today.
  • Recent load and activity panels update after refresh.

Troubleshooting

  • No workout appears: confirm an active plan exists, its start date covers today, and the workout was not already moved, skipped, or completed.
  • Today uses the wrong date: correct the account time zone, then restart or refresh both surfaces.
  • Advice is missing or generic: wait for activity processing, check AI entitlement/usage, and provide plan and current-state context.
  • Start training is unavailable: only eligible open workouts can start; inspect status and sport support.
  • The wrong activity is linked: open the activity action, remove or replace the link, and verify start time and sport before confirming.
  • Postpone or Skip fails: refresh the plan; a version-aware update may reject an action based on stale data.
  • A Current status card is empty: widen the data window, import supported activities, and confirm the threshold or sensor evidence required by that metric.
  • Changes made on web do not appear: pull to refresh and confirm both devices use the same account.
