Create Plans and Complete Strength Workouts on Mobile

Build a manual training plan on mobile, add endurance and strength sessions, review the schedule, and record a planned strength workout set by set.

Create Plans and Complete Strength Workouts on Mobile

The mobile app can create a complete draft plan and execute its planned strength sessions. Use this workflow when you want to arrange training away from the web app or record strength work beside the equipment.

Before you begin

  • Sign in and confirm that the Plan tab can load your account.
  • Decide the plan length and a short name.
  • For strength sessions, decide the exercises and the equipment available.
  • Create a draft first. Review the whole schedule before activation.

1. Choose how to create the plan

Open Plan, select Create plan, then choose:

  • Manual — arrange every endurance or strength session yourself.
  • AI — provide goals and constraints, then continue the planning conversation with AI Coach.

The rest of this tutorial uses Manual.

2. Enter the plan basics

Add the plan name, choose a period from 1 to 24 weeks, and optionally record principles, constraints, or execution priorities in the description. Continue only after the name and period are correct; shortening the period later cannot leave workouts outside the new range.

3. Arrange the schedule

Scroll through the schedule and open the day that should contain a workout. A day can contain multiple sessions, and the session number controls their order.

Choose one of the two workout structures:

  • Endurance — running, cycling, swimming, or stretching steps. Use manual mode for visual steps or DSL mode for supported text syntax.
  • Strength — exercises with warm-up/work groups, sets, repetitions or time, load, effort, and rest.

For every workout:

  1. Confirm its week, day, and session order.
  2. Give it a recognizable name.
  3. Keep coaching guidance in Notes.
  4. Build and validate its endurance or strength structure.
  5. Save the workout back to the plan draft.

4. Review and save the draft

Continue to Review only after adding at least one workout. Compare the total weeks, session count, training-day count, and chronological schedule. Save the plan; the new plan remains a draft so it can be checked before activation.

Open the plan detail and verify that every workout appears on the intended relative day. Activate it only after reading Plan Lifecycle.

5. Start a planned strength workout

When a planned strength session is ready, open it from Today, Calendar, or the active plan and select Start as planned. The app creates an actual strength activity from the prescription and opens the live session.

Starting a session is not the same as completing it. The planned prescription remains available while actual set data records what happened.

6. Record the session

For each exercise and set:

  1. Review the planned load and repetitions or duration.
  2. Adjust the actual load or result when the completed work differs.
  3. Mark the set complete. Undo it if it was tapped by mistake.
  4. Continue until the exercise and session progress match the work performed.

You can leave the live screen without deleting the record and return from the planned session later.

7. Finish and verify

Optionally select session RPE from 1 to 10, then choose Finish workout. The app completes the activity and opens its detail page.

Verify:

  • Duration and session RPE reflect the actual session.
  • Completed sets, load, repetitions, and timed work are correct.
  • The activity remains linked to the planned workout.
  • Planned and actual information are visually distinguishable.

Common problems

  • The schedule cannot continue: add at least one valid workout and keep every workout inside the plan period.
  • A strength workout cannot save: add an exercise name, at least one set group, and valid set/repetition values.
  • Start as planned fails: check connectivity, refresh the planned workout, and confirm that it still contains strength structure.
  • You left the live session: reopen the planned workout; the activity record is preserved.
