Performance Analysis Pages
Choose the right Trainingload.ai analysis page, keep sport and time filters consistent, and trace power, pace, heart-rate, and load trends back to real activities.
Performance Analysis Pages
The Analysis hub is a directory of tools, not a single scorecard. Start there when you know the training question but are not sure which page provides the evidence.
Before you begin
- Wait for the relevant activities to reach Ready status.
- Check profile thresholds and sport-specific zones before interpreting zone distributions.
- Choose one sport and one decision window.
- Confirm that the activities contain the sensor needed by the page: power, heart rate, or usable distance and time.
- Use the same unit system and time zone when comparing values across pages.
1. Choose a page from Analysis
Open Analysis and search or select a tool:

Progression is marked Coming soon. Do not treat its card as an available report or wait for it to answer a question that an existing page already covers.
Choose a report from the training and performance groups; the Progression card remains clearly marked Coming soon.
2. Set filters before reading the chart
On Power, Pace, and Heart Rate, set the sport and date range first. Keep them unchanged while comparing tabs.
- Use one range to answer a current-state question.
- Add multiple ranges only when the page allows it and the comparison has a clear purpose.
- Pace requires a specific sport; it does not offer an all-sports view.
- Power and Heart Rate can include all sports, but a mixed-sport result may be harder to interpret.
- A missing chart often means no qualifying sensor data exists inside the selected range.
Write the filter context beside any conclusion. “Power improved” is incomplete; “cycling power for 5 minutes increased in the current 90-day range compared with the previous 90 days” is traceable.
3. Use the Power tabs
The Power page has four views:
- Curve: table and chart of best sustained power across durations. It can compare multiple time ranges.
- Maximum: maximum-power history for the selected context.
- Zones: distribution of work across configured power zones. It can compare multiple ranges.
- Profile: power-profile context for the selected sport and range.
Use Curve for duration-specific capability, Zones for how work was distributed, and Profile for context. They answer different questions and should not be collapsed into one “fitness” judgement.
Keep the sport fixed while moving between Curve, Maximum, Zones, and Profile; use multiple ranges only where the page supports comparison.
4. Use Pace and Heart Rate
The Pace page contains:
- Curve: a table and chart of pace performance across distances.
- Zones: time or work distribution across the configured pace zones.
Select running, cycling, or swimming as offered by the filter. Swimming pace uses a swimming-specific distance basis, while running and cycling use their own display context. Avoid comparing the raw pace number across sports.
The Heart Rate page contains:
- Curve: a table and chart of sustained heart-rate values.
- Zones: distribution across configured heart-rate zones.
Heart rate is a response signal. Interpret it with duration, pace or power, conditions, fatigue, and sensor quality rather than treating a higher value as automatically better.
5. Add load context with PMC
Use PMC when the question is about accumulated training pressure rather than a single performance signal. Read CTL, ATL, and TSB together and keep the sport and date range aligned with the activities under review.
Load describes applied training pressure. It does not prove adaptation or readiness on its own. Continue with the Training Analysis Workflow when a chart needs to become a plan decision.
6. Trace a result back to evidence
When a curve point, zone distribution, or load change matters:
- Note the sport, date range, tab, duration, and value.
- Open the relevant activity or use activity search to find likely source sessions.
- Check processing status, sensor coverage, thresholds, and obvious spikes or dropouts.
- Separate the observed result from your interpretation.
- Make the smallest decision supported by the evidence.
Verify the analysis
- The page matches the question being asked.
- Sport, time range, units, and zone settings are recorded.
- The result is supported by qualifying Ready activities.
- A sensor gap or outlier is stated instead of silently averaged away.
- Any training decision can be traced to the underlying activities and plan context.
Troubleshooting
- The Analysis search returns nothing: clear the search term; tool search matches the localized title and description.
- A card cannot be opened: confirm whether it is marked Coming soon.
- A curve or zone chart is empty: widen the date range, select the correct sport, and confirm that qualifying activities contain the required sensor stream.
- Values changed after editing thresholds: zone distributions and derived context may change; record the new settings before comparing history.
- Power, pace, and heart rate tell different stories: they measure different inputs and responses. Recheck the question, source sessions, and conditions instead of choosing the most favorable chart.
- All-sports results look inconsistent: switch to a single sport and repeat the comparison.
